James W. Creenan

ACBA Treasurer James W. Creenan has been active in the ACBA since being elected to YLD Council in 2000. He later served as Treasurer of the YLD and its chair in 2005–2006. He later received the YLD Outstanding Young Lawyer Award. During his term as YLD chair, he led efforts to establish the ACBF Loan Repayment Assistance Program (LRAP) for the benefit of the area’s public legal service attorneys. His other ACBA involvement includes service on the Board of Governors, ACBA Assistant Secretary/Treasurer, Bills Subcommittee, Investment Committee, Ad Hoc Committee on Sarbanes-Oxley, Nominating Committee, Public Service Committee, Headquarters Committee, and Strategic Financial Planning Committee.

Creenan is a Trustee of the Allegheny County Bar Foundation and a member of the Fellows Committee, Loans and Scholarships Committee, Lawyers Fund Committee, LRAP Committee, and Public Interest Law Fellowship Committee. He has represented Allegheny County as a Zone 12 delegate to the Pennsylvania Bar Association House of Delegates. On the national level, he served as the young lawyer delegate to the American Bar Association’s YLD. He currently serves as a vice chair of the American Bar Association’s Insurance Coverage Litigation Committee and is the co-editor of the ICLC’s newsletter.

Creenan started Creenan Law Offices, PC in 2009, and his practice focuses on construction and insurance litigation matters, as well as estate and elder law, from his Allegheny County and Westmoreland County offices. He is active in his community as a member of the Murrysville Zoning Hearing Board, the Program Committee at Auberle, and several business organizations.
