Michelle KopnskiMichelle Kopnski is an attorney with Tucker Arensberg, P.C. Her practice is concentrated in corporate transactions, federal, state and local taxation issues, wealth transfer and business succession planning, IRS and Pennsylvania taxation appellate proceedings, and business and tax planning. She graduated in 1980 magna cum laude from West Virginia University with a B.S. in business administration. She received her J.D. in 1985 from West Virginia University College of Law, where she was a member of the Law Review, and her LL.M. in taxation in 1987 from New York University School of Law. She currently serves as chair of the Allegheny County Bar Association Finance Committee, as chair of the Committees UBIT Subcommittee, and as a member of its Bills and Investment Subcommittees. She also serves as a member of the ACBA ad hoc Strategic Financial Planning Committee. She is a member of the Board of Directors of ACBA Services, Inc., a member of the ACBA Taxation Section council, a member of the Board of Directors of the Press Club of Western Pennsylvania, and a member of the Board of Directors of Allegheny Tax Society. She actively supports WVU College of Law by serving on the WVU College of Law Development Council and as a member of the Board of Governors of the WVU College of Law Alumni Association. She was a Judicial Law Clerk for the West Virginia Supreme Court of Appeals. She is the co-author of Qualifying as a Nonprofit Tax-Exempt Organization, published by Quorum Books, Inc. She is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and West Virginia.
