Howard J. Schulberg
ACBA Immediate Past President Howard J. Schulberg is a partner at Goehring, Rutter & Boehm in its Litigation Group. The primary focus of his practice is municipal law, alternative dispute resolution, personal injury, and civil rights. He was elected to membership in the Academy of Trial Lawyers of Allegheny County in 1993 and has served on its Board of Governors.
A member of the ACBA since 1979, Schulberg has held leadership positions in the ACBA for a number of years. He was elected to the Judiciary Committee in 1997, where he served as Chair during the final year of his term. He served on the ACBA Board of Governors for two successive 3-year terms from 2000 to 2006. In 2007, he was elected Secretary of the ACBA for a two-year term. He was Chair of the Bench-Bar Conference in 1999 and has also participated in a number of Committees and special projects, including chairing the John H. Sorg Fund and Legislative Committee, serving on the Finance Committee and the Grant Committee of the Allegheny County Bar Foundation, among others.
Schulberg has been a board member of several non-profit organizations, including Pittsburgh Filmmakers and the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, and is currently on the board of the University School. A 1976 graduate of the Pennsylvania State University, he earned his J.D. from Duquesne University School of Law in 1979.
