ACBA President Jay A. Blechman is a partner in the Pittsburgh firm of Steiner & Blechman, LLC.   He has served a two year term as Treasurer of the Allegheny County Bar Association, and has twice served on its Family Law Section Governing Council.  Blechman has served as the PBA Liaison to the Section.  Blechman is the Immediate Past Chair of the Family Law Section of the Pennsylvania Bar Association.  He is also a Past Chair of the Children’s Issues Committee, the Family Law Section Program Committee, the Family Law Section Public Service Committee, and the Allegheny County Bar Association’s Committee on Children at Risk.  Blechman is a member of the Allegheny County Bar Association’s Finance Committee, on which he has served as the Vice-Chair.  He currently serves as the Chair of the Bills Committee, reviewing all expenses of the ACBA.  He serves on the Headquarters Committee and its Personnel Sub-Committee.  He has also served as a member of the Allegheny County Indigent Divorce Program Task Force.  He is currently on the Board of Governors of ACBA Services, Inc.  Blechman has served, for the past eleven years, as a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association Family Law Section Governing Council.  He writes for the Pennsylvania Family Lawyer and is currently a News Section Co-editor.  He is also the Family Law Section Delegate to the PBA House of Delegates.  Blechman is the Past Chair of the Continuing Legal Education Program Committee.  He is also a member of the American Bar Association, Family Law Section and lectures frequently on family law topics. Blechman received his B.S. in Commerce with high honor from DePaul University in 1983, and his J.D. from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law in 1986.
