Ken Gormley

Ken Gormley is a 1977 graduate of the University
of Pittsburgh, where he graduated summa cum laude. He earned his law degree from Harvard Law School in 1980.
Gormley is a professor at Duquesne University School of Law, where
he specializes in constitutional law and related subjects. Prior to
joining the faculty in 1994, Gormley practiced law at Cindrich and
Titus, where he handled litigation matters. He also taught at the
University of Pittsburgh School of Law and in the University of Pittsburgh
Department of Political Science. Gormley has been a member of the ACBA since
his admission to the bar in 1980. Over the past 25 years, he has participated
in numerous ACBA programs as a speaker and panelist. He formerly served
as executive director of the Pennsylvania Reapportionment Commission
in Harrisburg. Besides teaching at Duquesne, Gormley is of counsel
to the firm Schnader, Harrison, Segal & Lewis. Among other outside
activities, Gormley was recently appointed to the board of the Pennsylvania
Supreme Court Historical Society. He regularly contributes opinion
pieces to newspapers, and he provides commentary on legal and constitutional
issues for television and radio programs. Gormley recently completed
a four-year term as mayor of Forest Hills. He has served on the ACBA
Board of Governors since 2002 and is chair of the Legislative Committee.
