The Western Pennsylvania Diversity Initiative, formed in the summer of 2005, complements the ACBA’s Diversity Initiative. The WPDI’s mission statement calls for the initiative to provide “a consortium of diverse professionals across disciplines as a resource to the region’s employers on the benefits of the region in order to attract and retain other professionals of diverse backgrounds. Steve Spolar, Director of Human Resources at the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, has taken a lead role in getting the regional initiative off the ground.
