It is the purpose of the Committee to: 1) increase the participation
of the African-American men and women in the legal profession of this
community as lawyers, office employees, contractors, suppliers, venders,
and in any other capacity in which economic and social benefits may
be conferred by the legal community, 2) establish ACBA as a model
and a leader by its hiring and contracting practices and by the increased
participation of African-American attorneys in its programs, committees,
and other activities, and 3) coordinate with financial and educational
institutions, civic organizations, community organizations, and government
in promoting opportunities for the African-American men and women
of the community in the legal profession.
