Foundation accepting Pro Bono Achievement Award nominations
The ACBA Pro Bono Achievement Awards recognize individuals and organizations that have made outstanding contributions to pro bono service in our communities. The Allegheny County Bar Foundation and the Public Service Committee are currently accepting nominations for the 2009 Pro Bono Achievement awards. The awards will be presented at the Thirteenth Annual Fellows Reception and Dinner on September 21, 2010, at the August Wilson Center for African American Culture, featuring singer/songwriter John Forté. The foundation is seeking nominations in recognition of outstanding pro bono service in the following categories: ACBF online auction now open for bidding! Share your story with the Pro Bono Center Were you able to use your skills as a lawyer to make a positive impact on someone's life? Did you solve a client's legal problem with just a phone call or a letter, or reach a settlement in a case that would have dragged on and on? Free online legal research available to pro bono attorneys Thanks to a generous grant from LexisNexis, the Allegheny County Bar Foundation is pleased to offer access to free online legal research for volunteers working on pro bono cases. We encourage you to use this valuable service. Support the Allegheny County Bar Foundation and Neighborhood Legal Services Association by bidding on the online auction benefitting the 18th Annual ACBA Golf Tournament. Auction items include Pittsburgh sports memorabilia, golf at fine local courses, and gift certificates to the city’s finest restaurants and hotels. Online bidding ends Thursday, July 22 with live bidding to continue at the tournament on Monday, July 26 at Nevillewood. If you’re unable to attend the tournament, you can easily opt for absentee bidding.
