James R. Mall, a partner at Meyer, Unkovic & Scott LLP, is Treasurer of the Allegheny County Bar Association. Mr. Mall, who has been practicing law for 40 years, focuses on construction law, commercial litigation, land use and zoning.
Mr. Mall is a member of the ACBA Civil Litigation Section Council, Construction Law Section, Federal Court Section and Finance Committee (including the Bills Subcommittee and Investment Subcommittee). He formerly chaired the ACBA Public Service Committee and Construction Law Section, and he was a member of the Audit Committee, among numerous other bar association positions.
In addition to his construction law work, Mr. Mall serves as solicitor to the Hampton Township Zoning Hearing Board and represents several national title insurance companies in claims litigation and numerous nursing homes and assisted living facilities in various litigation matters. Mr. Mall has been appointed as an arbitrator by the American Arbitration Association to resolve complex construction and commercial cases.
In addition to his roles at the ACBA, Mr. Mall is involved in various other legal and community organizations. He is a member of the Academy of Trial Lawyers of Allegheny County, the Notre Dame Club of Pittsburgh Advisory Committee, the Western Pennsylvania Master Builders’ Association, the Pittsburgh Chapter of the Construction Financial Management Association, the Construction Legislative Council and more.
Mr. Mall has three degrees from the University of Notre Dame: a Bachelor of Business Administration, a Master’s in Business Administration, and a Juris Doctor degree, graduating law school in 1978.
