Joseph R. Williams is the President-Elect of the Allegheny County Bar Association.
Joe is a partner at Pollock Begg in downtown Pittsburgh. Joe’s practice includes all areas of family law, including divorce and equitable distribution, support and alimony, child custody, child support and prenuptial and postnuptial agreements.
Joe is a 2006 graduate of Bethany College in Bethany, West Virginia and a 2009 graduate of Duquesne University School of Law. Joe has served on the Board of Governors for the Duquesne Law Alumni Association and served as President of the DLAA from 2018-2019.
Through the ACBA, Joe has served on the Board of Governors, the Bench-Bar Committee, the 150th Anniversary Committee, the By-Laws Committee, the Ad Hoc Emergency Issues Committee, the Nominating Committee, and various other subcommittees. Joe is a member of the Family Law Section, where he previously served on Council and chaired the Membership Subcommittee and the Social Subcommittee. Additionally, Joe is a past Chair of the Young Lawyers Division. During Joe’s time in the YLD, he served on Council, chaired the Bar Leadership Committee, was a member of the Public Service, Diversity, Education and Member Services subcommittees, and was the chairperson for numerous programs, projects and events. Joe is also a Fellow of the Allegheny County Bar Foundation. He has served on the Fellows Committee and the 35th Anniversary Red Tie Gala Committee.
Joe has been listed in Best Lawyers in America since 2018 for family law. Additionally, since 2011 Joe has been listed every year as a Rising Star in the Pennsylvania Super Lawyers Publication. In 2017 Joe was named the Outstanding Young Lawyer of the ACBA, as selected by the YLD. Finally, in 2013 Joe was one of 38 lawyers statewide to be selected as a Lawyer on the Fast Track by the Legal Intelligencer.
Joe is a resident of the Shadyside neighborhood of Pittsburgh. He is originally from Lore City, Ohio.
