Allegheny County Bar Foundation to help staff “A Thanksgiving Distribution” coordinated by Urban League of Pittsburgh

Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, November 6, 2012 – Officers of the Allegheny County Bar Foundation announced that on November 10 volunteers from its annual Attorneys Against Hunger Campaign will help to staff “A Thanksgiving Distribution”, which is organized by the Urban League of Pittsburgh. Families in need will receive food items and vouchers for a traditional Thanksgiving dinner. The distribution will take place at August Wilson Center.

“The Urban League of Pittsburgh is one of the recipient agencies of our Attorneys Against Hunger campaign, so we are very familiar with the good work they do and how many people they help on a regular basis,” said Bill Stang, co-chair of this year’s Attorneys Against Hunger Campaign.

“Last year more than 400 families were served at this event, and our attorneys welcome the opportunity to help distribute the food,” said Mary McGinley, co-chair of Attorneys Against Hunger. “The Urban League of Pittsburgh is making sure that families in need have a hot Thanksgiving meal, and we are proud to help staff this event.”

Incorporated in 1980, the Allegheny County Bar Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, serves as the philanthropic arm of the Allegheny County Bar Association. The Foundation operates a variety of charitable, educational, pro bono and public service activities.
