Diversity Initiative
The ACBA’s Diversity Initiative has been picking up steam since it was first discussed in 2002 during a meeting of the ACBA’s Managing Partners Forum. Four task forces were assembled as part of this initiative. They include the Law Firm/Law Department Task Force, the Community Outreach Task Force, the Court and Government Agencies Task Force, and the Law School Task Force. ACBA Diversity Coordinator Gene Harris said all of the task forces are off to a good start, and it is possible that an additional team could be put together this year to focus solely on retention efforts.
