Allegheny County Bar Association distributes 10,000th complimentary copy of its That is No Joke! Children’s Book
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania – May 12, 2010. The officers of the Allegheny County Bar Association today announced that it recently fulfilled a request for the 10,000th complimentary copy of its popular children’s book, That Is No Joke! The illustrated book, geared for students in grades K-5, teaches children the difference between a good joke and a bad one, why making fun of others is wrong, and why it is our differences that make us special. The association offers a complimentary copy to any organization or individual, and its attorney volunteers will bring copies of the book to schools where they present the association’s This is a Joke – Making Fun of Others is Not! Program.
"Obviously, we are pleased with the popularity of the book and to help get these important messages to students," said Kimberly A. Brown, President of the Allegheny County Bar Association. "We have had requests from parents, grandparents, and teachers throughout Pennsylvania and across the country as well as international requests. We have been told numerous times that our book is an excellent tool in dealing with the subjects of bullying and making fun of others at an early age. We are happy to continue to make That is No Joke! available to our schools."
That is No Joke! has received a Luminary Award for Excellence from the National Association of Bar Executives and will soon be in its third printing. The book was written and edited by two Allegheny County Bar Association directors.
