Attorney Richard S. Wiedman Elected President of Allegheny County Bar Foundation
Pittsburgh, July 20, 2015. — The Allegheny County Bar Foundation announced today that Richard S. Wiedman, an environmental law attorney and member of the Executive Committee at Eckert Seamans, has been elected to serve as the foundation’s President. Wiedman assumed his duties on July 1, 2015 and will hold the position for two years.
Wiedman – who has been on the foundation’s board of trustees for seven years – replaces Kenneth Argentieri, who concluded his two-year term as President on June 30. Argentieri said Wiedman is the ideal individual to take on the role of President.
“In addition to his commitment to clients, environmental law and the legal profession overall, Rick has shown remarkable dedication to the mission of the Allegheny County Bar Foundation,” said Argentieri. “He is committed to helping the foundation be a driving force in promoting ‘justice for all’ and improving our community through public service.”
Wiedman said that, among his key goals as he takes on the role of president, will be growing the foundation’s endowment, which will allow the organization to “appropriately fund and provide essential legal services to our community now and into the future.”
“Being elected President of the Allegheny County Bar Foundation, an organization that does so much good for so many people in our community, is quite an honor,” he said. “I am looking forward to continuing to work with a wonderful board and dedicated staff to maintain and enhance the critical pro bono and educational programs for which the foundation is responsible. Through our foundation, attorneys from throughout our region are working hard to provide legal programs that help those in need. I have long been involved with these efforts, and I am excited to now be even more involved as the organization’s president.”
In addition to Wiedman being elected President, the Allegheny County Bar Foundation has also announced the election of the following officers:
- Patricia L. Dodge, Managing Partner at Meyer, Unkovic and Scott, has been elected Vice President of the Allegheny County Bar Foundation.
- Jessica L. Crown, attorney at Goehring, Rutter and Boehm, has been elected Secretary of the Allegheny County Bar Foundation.
- Paul J. Gitnik, attorney at Keevican, Weiss, Bauerle and Hirsch, has been elected Treasurer of the Allegheny County Bar Foundation.
Incorporated in 1980, the Allegheny County Bar Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, serves as the philanthropic arm of the Allegheny County Bar Association. The Foundation operates a variety of charitable, educational, pro bono, and public service activities.
