This program is designed for law school graduates who (1) previously practiced law or otherwise used their law degree in a professional capacity; (2) took a leave from their legal career for a year or for longer, whether for health, family, personal, or other reasons; and (3) wish to return to the practice of law or to find an alternative use for their law degree in the near future. The program is not intended for recent law school graduates who have never practiced law.
Applications for the inaugural session of Back to the Bar, which is currently scheduled to be held two days a week over three consecutive weeks from September 24, 2013 to October 10, 2013, are now being accepted. You may complete the online application by clicking here.
Note: In order to provide the individual attention that we believe is integral to the Back to the Bar program, the number of attorneys accepted into the program will be limited. Therefore, we encourage interested participants to apply early. There is no cost to apply. Applicants meeting the requirements of the program who are accepted will be notified by email. The email notification of acceptance will contain payment instructions. The cost of the Back to the Bar program is $395. Existing members of the ACBA who submit an application online by June 30, 2013 and are accepted into the program will pay a discounted price of $350.
