Latest Developments in Construction Law

With the continued evolution of AI, important recent cases, and a reorganization in the Allegheny County Court of Common Pleas Civil Division, there are numerous changes and developments that construction law practitioners should be aware of.

During this three-hour program, panelists will discuss these issues and other topics of interest to Pittsburgh-area construction attorneys.

Building the Future: AI Data Center Development

AI is being integrated into society in multiple capacities. What you don't see when using Chat GPT are the immense data centers, facilities with specialized computing resources designed to handle the intense demands of AI. The construction of these massive data centers are impacting the entire construction industry. This program will explore the legal and practical considerations in AI data center site selection and construction.

Judicial Perspectives and Administrative Updates Impacting Allegheny County Practitioners

This program will offer insights directly from the bench and court staff. It will cover recent developments impacting construction litigation and case administration in the Court of Common Pleas of Allegheny County.

ACBA Construction Law Section Holiday Party – featuring the presentation of the third-annual Construction Law Achievement Award to Bob Blumling – will immediately follow the CLE. There’s no cost to attend the holiday party, and all Section members are welcome to attend the holiday party, whether or not they attend the CLE.

*This program is only being offered live in-person at the Engineers Society of Western Pennsylvania.

*This program has been approved for 3 hours of Substantive CLE credit and also qualifies for 3 hours of credit under the West Virginia Rules for Mandatory Continuing Legal Education.

*Please note: The Pa. CLE Board can take up to 45 days to post credits.

CLE and Events Registration Policy: Members and Non-members can register for ACBA programs online or by paper mail-in registration, up to two days prior to a program start date. Seating is limited, so pre-registration is strongly encouraged. Walk-ins will be accommodated as space permits. To secure your spot, payment must be made in advance due to limited registration capacity. You can do so online via credit card or by mailing in a check. If this ACBA CLE cannot be held in-person, it will be converted into a webinar and held on the same date and time. You will be notified via email if that change is made.

Printed materials are available for an additional fee upon request.

If cancelling your registration, you must notify the Allegheny County Bar Association by email CLEcancel@acba.org no later than 2 business days prior to the CLE course presentation date in order to receive a 100% refund; 1 business day or less, you will receive a full refund minus a $25 administrative fee.

The Allegheny County Bar Association welcomes the transferring of a CLE registration to a substitute course date and time. If you do not attend the CLE course and did not notify Allegheny County Bar Association in the appropriate advanced notice, you waive eligibility for a refund.  Also, cancellation received after the day of the program will not be refunded.

The Allegheny County Bar Association reserves the right to modify or cancel a program if circumstances warrant. If the ACBA cancels a program, the cost of that program will be refunded.
