Simple Divorces: Is There Really Such a Thing?
When you hear that someone needs help with a “simple” divorce, do you freeze or laugh? What actually makes a divorce simple? Can a divorce ever really be simple?
That is a very fair question, and as any attorney knows, it depends (insert lawyerly shrug here). Thankfully there are two programs right here in Allegheny County that can help with those questions. Women’s Center & Shelter of Greater Pittsburgh’s Civil Law Project and the Allegheny County Bar Foundation’s Divorce Law Project are designed to guide attorneys on the basics of filing for and receiving a divorce in Allegheny County.
During this program, panelists will provide an overview from start to finish of a divorce while focusing on the Projects’ abilities to help individuals facing Intimate Partner Violence or economic hardship. A simple divorce can truly be simple after you learn from panelists about best practices, common pitfalls, and, of course, how and where to file your paperwork.

Please note: This is a live interactive Zoom webinar that can be viewed by participants on their own computers remotely. Participants will receive 1 hour of Live CLE credit for the webinar. You will receive the link to join and the materials 24 hours in advance of the program.
*This program has been approved for 1 hour of Substantive CLE credit and also qualifies for 1.2 hours of credit under the West Virginia Rules for Mandatory Continuing Legal Education.
**Most CLE programs may be submitted for Ohio CLE credit upon request for an additional $25 fee. For more information or to request Ohio credit, please email hbedford@acba.org.

*Please note: The Pa. CLE Board can take up to 45 days to post credits.
CLE and Events Registration Policy: Members and Non-members can register for ACBA programs online or by paper mail-in registration, up to two days prior to a program start date. Some programs are restricted to ACBA or Section members only.

If cancelling your registration, you must notify the Allegheny County Bar Association by email CLEcancel@acba.org no later than 2 business days prior to the CLE course presentation date in order to receive a 100% refund; 1 business day or less, you will receive a full refund minus a $25 administrative fee.
The Allegheny County Bar Association welcomes the transferring of a CLE registration to a substitute course date and time. If you do not attend the CLE course and did not notify Allegheny County Bar Association in the appropriate advanced notice, you waive eligibility for a refund. Also, cancellation received after the day of the program will not be refunded.
The Allegheny County Bar Association reserves the right to modify or cancel a program if circumstances warrant. If the ACBA cancels a program, the cost of that program will be refunded.
