Be Careful with QR Codes
QR (Quick Response) codes are everywhere today, on virtual menus, on websites, on TV, in magazines, on posters and more. They are computer-readable and, when scanned, can direct users to websites or documents, download files and information, and take other action. They are like bar codes on steroids.
While they can be very helpful, they also present high risk. Attackers can use them to direct users to malicious websites and documents, download malware, and take other malicious actions. Be careful before scanning a QR code, paying attention to where it is posted and its source.
