Takeaways from Cybersecurity Awareness Month

October was the 20th annual Cybersecurity Awareness Month, cosponsored by the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Agency (CISA) and the National Cybersecurity Alliance (NCA). This year’s theme was “Secure Our World.” The takeaways – that are part of effective security –include “Four Easy Ways to Stay Safe Online” at work and at home:

• Use strong passwords and a password manager.
• Turn on multifactor authentication.
• Recognize and report phishing. Think before you click or act!
• Update software.

Cybersecurity Awareness Month is a time to raise awareness about the importance of cybersecurity. It is important for all users to be attentive to security every day, every time they are using technology, all year long.
