“The Case of the Carbolic Smoke Ball’ – a play written by local attorneys Tim Murray and Bob Haas – will be produced at the Carnegie State Oct. 17-19 and Oct. 24-26.

The year is 1979. Former movie actor, Noah Swayne, is now President of the United States, and he’s in big trouble. After caving to the demands of blackmailers and giving them a dangerous bio-weapon, the FBI is ready to arrest him for treason. Swayne believes there is only one person who can save him and his presidency: Rufus Wheeler Peckham, a famous attorney who Swayne portrayed in a series of popular films before he was elected. Peckham is brilliant in the courtroom—impossible to be around anywhere else. When he arrives at the White House, mayhem and murder follow.

Pumpking is in the air.

All members are invited to celebrate fall with fellow members on Wednesday, Oct. 22 at the bar association’s next Members-Only Happy Hour. Enjoy food, beverages and networking on the North Shore at Southern Tier Brewery from 5-7 p.m.

This event is not restricted to only the members of a particular committee, division, or section, making it truly one of the only chances to network with members from across the ACBA. Admission is just $10 and includes appetizers and your first drink, courtesy of Fragasso Financial Advisors. No CLE. No Seminar. Just Happy Hour.

Now, these judges need your support in not only voting “Yes” to retain them, but also in spreading the word to your families, friends and neighbors. The ACBA Judicial Excellence Committee (PAC) is running a retention election campaign, supporting the community to vote yes. Click below for more.
