The ACBA has added a new Wellness Circle: “Improv Games and Exercises.”

Ben Bratman, ACBA Member and Professor of Legal Writing at the University of Pittsburgh’s School of Law, launched in 2023 - Applied Improv for Lawyers, a unique course aimed at building law students’ confidence and communication skills. Rather than teaching legal doctrine or precedent, the course imparts on students the core tenets of improvisational performance — like agreement, supporting your partner and saying “yes, and” — and gives them opportunities to put the principles into practice through assorted improv exercises. These concepts will now be incorporated into an ACBA Wellness Circle. No experience needed to join this Wellness Circle.

Currently there are nine Wellness Circles, which are listed below. Members are welcome to suggest ideas for additional Wellness Circles. For more details, FAQs and other information, click the button below.

The ACBA is committed to providing Continuing Legal Education programs that are relevant, engaging and valuable to members. To help continue improving the program, the ACBA has created a short survey regarding the current CLE program.

Your feedback will play an important role in helping the ACBA evaluate what’s working well, identify opportunities for improvement and guide the development of future CLE offerings.

The survey will take only a few minutes to complete, and every response is appreciated. Whether you’ve attended one program or many, your insights will help the ACBA better meet the educational needs of members.

Thank you in advance for taking the time to share your thoughts. The ACBA looks forward to hearing from you and continuing to provide high-quality CLE programming that serves the Pittsburgh Legal Community.
