For ACBA Committees, Divisions and Sections planning on producing CLE programs in the new bar year, now is the time to get started.

The new bar year begins July 1, and all ACBA Sections and Divisions are required to produce four CLE credits and committees are scheduled to produce one credit. August through October is an ideal window to schedule your CLE program—availability is typically higher, and there are fewer competing events. Plus, August falls within the current CLE compliance period, making it a smart time to kick things off.

To ensure smooth scheduling, CLE proposals must be submitted at least 60 days in advance of the program date. Topics are subject to approval of the ACBA CLE Department. Proposals should include the topic, speaker(s), along with bios and color headshots. To begin the process, contact Holly Bedford, the ACBA’s CLE and Program Manager, at the button below.

The ACBA Women in the Law Division is partnering with the Red Bee Group to conduct a study designed to gather insight on job satisfaction and other factors related to women in the legal profession. The study will explore different aspects of your experience as an attorney working in Allegheny County, including workplace culture, professional development opportunities and overall job satisfaction. Your feedback will be instrumental in guiding future initiatives aimed at enhancing and fostering a workplace for everyone.

The survey portion of this study was emailed to all attorneys registered to practice law in Allegheny County on June 11. Complete the survey by clicking on the below link OR by clicking on the link that was emailed to you.

Deadline to complete the survey is July 2. All answers are completely confidential.

The ACBA Bench-Bar Conference officially kicks off today and continues through this Saturday, June 14 at Seven Springs Mountain Resort. Walk-in registration is available both today and tomorrow. In addition to a full schedule of CLEs, networking events, sporting activities and fine dining, Bench-Bar also will feature live entertainment from the Motown Band. Bench-Bar is a members-only, adults-only event.

The Lawyer Referral Service (LRS) is a service designed to help Pittsburgh and western Pennsylvania residents find the right lawyers for their specific types of legal matters. Each year, thousands of clients call the ACBA looking for an attorney, and the ACBA refers those cases to LRS panel attorneys. ACBA members may join the Lawyer Referral Service panel for a nominal fee – “test drive” the service for six months for just $150 – and have referrals sent directly to you from the bar association.
