The annual ACBA Golf and Bocce Tournament – one of the Pittsburgh Legal Community’s biggest events of the summer – will be held on Monday, July 28 and feature an 18-hole championship golf tournament, as well as a bocce competition suitable for players at all skill levels.

Registration for all attendees includes food, beverages, skill contests and access to a silent auction and other exciting prizes. It is a great afternoon of networking and fun while raising money for two great organizations, as it supports the Allegheny County Bar Foundation and Neighborhood Legal Services. Cybercriminals continue to attempt to ensnare victims by exploiting emotions, using false urgency (“Act Now, or Lose Something”), fear (“Something Bad Will Happen”), curiosity (“You Won’t Believe This!”), trust and authority (“This is Someone You Know”) and more.

They use these exploits for phishing, spearphishing (targeted phishing), smishing (SMS text phishing), vishing (voice phishing), and the latest, deepfake videos. Understanding these emotional exploits and constantly keeping them in mind are important steps for protection.

ACBA Members are encouraged to participate in the annual elections, which opened earlier this month and close at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, June 4.

Eligible members can cast ballots to elect the association’s next President-Elect, Secretary, division leaders, and new members of both the Board of Governors and the Judiciary Committee. This year, the ACBA elections will run concurrently with the retention referendum that occurs every two years; ACBA members are asked to vote as to whether or not judges should be retained in their positions. Members in the active and honorary membership classes as of April 1, 2025, are eligible to vote.

As in recent years, voting will be conducted exclusively online. On May 19, eligible members should have received an email containing instructions and unique login credentials. Members who do not receive the voting email should reach out to Jennifer Pulice at jpulice@acba.org.
