The event, which raises money for the Allegheny County Bar Foundation and Neighborhood Legal Services, will feature an 18-hole championship golf tournament, as well as a bocce competition suitable for players at all skill levels.

Registration for all attendees includes food, beverages, skill contests and access to a silent auction and other exciting prizes. It is a great afternoon of networking and fun while raising money for two great organizations.

ACBA members should be aware that there is a phishing email scam targeting ACBA members going around. The emails come from familiar ACBA member/staff names, but the domain is “@members-acba.org” rather than “@acba.org” which is the actual ACBA domain.

The messages request members to update their member information. Disregard these emails as they are not legitimate. For any questions, reach out to an ACBA staff member directly.

All members are invited to join the ACBA Appellate Practice Committee for an informal, non-CLE discussion with Superior Court Judges Jill Beck and Timika Lane and Commonwealth Court Judge Matthew S. Wolf on Wednesday, May 28 at noon on Zoom.

Attendees will learn about the jurists' paths to the bench and how their experiences have shaped their roles as judges on intermediate appellate courts. This is the chance to interact with the judges in an informal setting decidedly less intimidating than oral argument.

ACBA Members are encouraged to participate in the annual elections, which opened on Monday and close at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, June 4.

Eligible members can cast ballots to elect the association’s next President-Elect, Secretary, division leaders, and new members of both the Board of Governors and the Judiciary Committee. This year, the ACBA elections will run concurrently with the retention referendum that occurs every two years; ACBA members are asked to vote as to whether or not judges should be retained in their positions. Members in the active and honorary membership classes as of April 1, 2025, are eligible to vote.

As in recent years, voting will be conducted exclusively online. On May 19, eligible members should have received an email containing instructions and unique login credentials. Members who do not receive the voting email should reach out to Jennifer Pulice at jpulice@acba.org.
