The St. Thomas More Society of Pittsburgh is conducting its annual Franklyn E. Conflenti Lenten Speaker Series. The sessions will be held at noon on Tuesdays from Feb. 20 through March 19 at the offices of Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney. The sessions are free and are open to all members and guests; lunch is available for $10. The Pittsburgh Legal Journal publishes timely, precedent-setting, full-text opinions from various divisions of the Court of Common Pleas. Opinions that appeared in past editions are available in a searchable database here; members must be logged in to the ACBA website to access this database.

There is currently a vacancy on a Pennsylvania Supreme Court’s Board of Law Examiners. Applicants must be members of the Pennsylvania bar or jurists, should be knowledgeable about law school curriculum, legal practice and attorney ethical obligations. Law school faculty may not serve on this Board. Applications are due by Monday, March 31.

The Allegheny County Bar Association Annual Meeting will be held on Thursday, March 27 at noon in the Koppers Building Conference Center, as well as on Zoom. The purpose of the meeting is to give the report of the ACBA Nominating Committee, to accept nominations from the floor and to select ballot positions for the Bar Association elections. All members of the Bar Association are invited to attend.

All members are invited to enjoy a night of fun and games, all while supporting a good cause. The popular annual Attorneys Against Hunger fundraiser – “Strike Out Hunger” – returns to one of Pittsburgh’s hot spots, Shorty's Pins x Pints on the North Shore on Wednesday, March 19 at 5:30 p.m.

Proceeds benefit the Allegheny County Bar Foundation Attorneys Against Hunger program, which provides funds to 17 food pantries and hunger relief organizations in Allegheny County.
