Wonder if your decisions, legal advice or other professional actions are ethical? ACBA members can get confidential consultation on their legal actions and/or potential actions through the bar association’s Professional Ethics Hotline.

Through the hotline, members of the ACBA Professional Ethics Committee are available to give their opinion on the proper interpretation of the Code of Judicial Conduct and/or Rules of Professional Conduct. They are available to address ethics questions from any ACBA member, but they advise only about the member's own conduct; they will not give opinions about the conduct of other lawyers or judicial officials.

Want a fun night out, tasting local cuisine and featured wines from throughout the region, all while supporting a good cause? This year’s BLI Class Project – “412 Restaurants to the Rescue” – is for you. The event will be held on Monday, March 30 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Hotel Monaco, and it will benefit 412 Food Rescue, a nonprofit with a two-fold mission: to prevent food waste and to fight hunger in Southwestern Pennsylvania.

Enjoy a Chef’s Tasting featuring cuisine from a variety local chefs, as well as featured wines. The event also will feature raffles and a presentation from 412 Food Rescue. Proceeds from the event will go to 412 Food Rescue through the Allegheny County Bar Foundation, and all leftover food will be re-purposed to serve those dealing with food insecurity in the area. Thank you to Title Sponsor Gismondi & Associates for sponsoring this event.

In today’s day and age, when a potential client calls, the expectation is they’ll get a live person or a return call almost instantly. If not, they’ll quickly move on to the next attorney. The ACBA partners at LawyerLine provide a third-party call center where highly trained receptionists field your calls and even perform intake; the goal is for clients/potential clients to feel like they’re talking to your receptionist, not a call center. ACBA members get a discount: enjoy LawyerLine’s gold platform for just $2.25 per minute, reduced from the regular price of $3 per minute.
