“The Case of the Carbolic Smoke Ball’ – a play written by local attorneys Tim Murray and Bob Haas – will be produced at the Carnegie State Oct. 17-19 and Oct. 24-26.

The year is 1979. Former movie actor, Noah Swayne, is now President of the United States, and he’s in big trouble. After caving to the demands of blackmailers and giving them a dangerous bio-weapon, the FBI is ready to arrest him for treason. Swayne believes there is only one person who can save him and his presidency: Rufus Wheeler Peckham, a famous attorney who Swayne portrayed in a series of popular films before he was elected. Peckham is brilliant in the courtroom—impossible to be around anywhere else. When he arrives at the White House, mayhem and murder follow.
